So the question thing I did in my last post put me in mind of my favorite names. The following list has been changed rather a lot, but these are some of my favorite boy and girl names/combination of names.

For girls -
  • Margaret Ann/Lynn
  • Amy/Aimee Lisette
  • Emma Antonia
  • Emma Lynn
  • Daniella
I've always loved the name Margaret and the nickname Maggie. Yes, I left the e off of Ann on purpose. I'm sorry Miss Shirley, but I think it looks so much better without it. I've liked Aimee ever since I first saw Wives and Daughters, and I like Daniella and Antonia as much for their nicknames as the names themselves. Dani, Ella, Ani, Toni, Tonia, Ania. :)

For boys -
  • James Patrick
  • Samuel Curtis
  • Paul Anthony/Anthony Paul
  • William Miles
  • Thomas Miles/Miles Thomas
  • Benjamin Thomas
Honestly, I have more fun with boy names. I've always liked James, Patrick, William and Benjamin. Samuel, Paul, and Thomas have grown on me more recently. Curtis, Miles, and Anthony were inspired at least in part by fictional characters. Curtis is the last name of the main character from one of my favorite books, The Outsiders. Miles I didn't like so much at first, but I read Men of Iron in which the hero is named Miles Falworth, and then I took care of a cute little boy named Miles, and now I like it quite a bit. Anthony's chief attraction for me is it's nickname, Tony, which happens to be the name of one of my favorite characters from 24. I also love the nickname Charlie, but I don't much like the name Charles.

I also think that a cute name for boy/girl twins would be Ella and Milo, but when I mentioned that to my mum she thought Milo was a dreadful name. So if I were ever to have boy/girl twins I'll name them Daniella and Miles and then I can call them Ella and Milo when I like, but If they don't like the names they aren't stuck with them :)
I know this has nothing to do with the Europe trip that I was writing about, and I have been horribly tardy in continuing that tale, but I was reading Old-Fashioned-Charm and I saw this tag thing she did and I liked the questions so I decided to answer them myself without actually doing the tag part, rebellious thing that I am. :P

1. What’s your favorite breakfast food?
Waffles

2. What’s your favorite book by Jane Austen?
Sense and Sensibility or Persuasion

3. What’s your favorite period drama?
Impossible question! I do love Wives and Daughters rather particularly, though.

4. What’s your favorite book by a more modern author?
Narnia, LotR, The Outsiders, and The Hunger Games Trilogy was pretty good.

5. What’s your favorite kind of chip?

Johnny Tremain maybe

8. What’s your favorite Jane Austen film adaption?
Pride and Prejudice - the A&E one with Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle
Sense & Sensibility - the one with Emma Thompson, even if she did look twice the age she was supposed to
Emma - the one with Kate Beckinsdale
Persuasion - the one with Amanda Root
Northanger Abbey - I've only seen the one with Felicity Jones, but I thought it was pretty good
Mansfield Park - There's never been a really good one, but I like the one from 1983 the best.

9. What’s your favorite movie soundtrack?
Impossible to choose!

10. What’s your favorite place to read?
A comfortable corner or my bed

11. What’s your favorite thing to blog about?
I don't really have a particular thing that I like to blog about, but I always enjoy something funny

12. Describe your dream pair of shoes.
A pair that morphs into whatever I want, never get smelly, and always fit perfectly

13. What's your favorite children's picture book?
There were so many that I loved, but the one that comes to mind is "Make Way for Ducklings"

14. What's your favorite fruit?
It varies. I love strawberries, blackberries, and kiwi.

15. How tall are you? (I always like to know how tall people are-- not sure why. Don't worry, I'm not asking for your weight... and if you feel it's an invasion of your privacy to post your height, you can substitute a picture of a cute kitten for this question.)
 5 foot, 6ish

16. If money was no object, where would you like to go on your honeymoon?
Ireland, Scotland, Wales, and England

17. Who is your favorite singer?
Can't pick a favorite

18. What's the next book on your to-read list?
There isn't any particular order to my reading list. I read them in the order that I find them. Either "Not a Fan", "Catcher in the Rye", or "To Kill a Mockingbird". I know it''s rather shocking that I haven't read the last one yet. I have read part of it. Come to think of it I may have read the whole thing, but I can't remember.

19. What's your biggest language-related pet peeve? (i.e., what phrases or words bug you the most?)
Speaking in text language, probably, and when people say "like" a whole lot, especially guys.

Period dramas, Disney movies, Sci-fi, Narnia, LotR, whatever pops into my head at any given moment.

21. If you could wear any outfit from a movie for a day, what would you choose?
OH! Hard question! Maybe one of the dresses from Lord of the Rings, I don't much care which, they're all so pretty. Many period dramas also have lovely costumes, and so does Star Wars!

22. What's your favorite dessert?
I don't really eat desert, but it's hard to go wrong with a bit of mint chocolate chip ice cream :)

23. What is your middle name? (If you don’t feel comfortable posting that online, what is a name that you especially like?)
Grace. I have several names that I really like but I'll save them for another post. :)

24. What is your least favorite book?
Robinson Crusoe I think. It was so dreadfully boring.

25. If you could be in charge of directing one movie based on a novel, what would that book be?
Mansfield Park, Johnny Tremain, The Outsiders(on second thought I don't think it should be made into a movie at all. I should be in charge of preventing people from ruining it with their attempts), or The Hunger Games Trilogy(I don't like what they've done with it so far).

26. How many siblings do you have?
7, 8 if the dog counts, and 9 if Mum's smartphone, Alathia, counts :)

27. If you are not home schooled, do you wish you were? If you are, what’s your favorite thing about home schooling?
Being able to do my work at my own pace (though I sometimes abused that power horribly :/) without the distraction of peers

28. Who is your favorite Bible character (besides Jesus!)
Daniel or Paul.

29. If you had to pick a music CD that you think described you as a person, what would it be?
Well I don't think that any album could quite capture my inconsistency. I really like Porcelain by Helen Jane Long and Riverdance.

30. What is your favorite musical?
I enjoyed The Sound of Music, and Seven Brides For Seven Brothers, and The Phantom of the Opera had some songs that are great fun to try and sing, but my favorite would have to be Fiddler on the Roof.

31. Would you rather visit Ancient Greece, Ancient Egypt, Ancient Rome, or Ancient Babylon?
Ancient Rome. I'd like to see what Britain was like during that time.

32. Quick! Pick one! Rock, paper, or scissors?
Oh dear! Rock is so nice and stable and wonderfully good for smashing things, paper can be written on and folded and made into things and scissors are so wonderfully sharp and can slice through things...sometimes. rock or paper,  rock or paper, rockor paper, rockorpaper.....depends on what I'm picking it for.

33. You’ve been nominated for an Academy award! Describe the dress you’d wear on the red carpet.
I'm not sure what it would look like, but I can tell you what it wouldn't feature. It would not have a low neckline, a tiny skirt, high slits in the skirt or anywhere else for that matter except maybe the sleeves,  and it would not be made of see through material.

34. What character in the Bible can you most relate to and why?
Hard question....maybe Gideon or Thomas

35. What is one of your biggest fears?
Mmmm....not being able to  see what's under me. I don't like swimming in lakes and the ocean for that very reason.

36. If you could spend a day with a fictional character, who would it be?
Oooh! That's a hard one.... maybe Rab Silsbee from Johnny Tremain or Ponyboy Curtis from the outsiders. Or maybe Elinor Dashwood or Anne Elliot.

37. What is your favorite season of the year?
FALL

38. God sees you as beautiful and lovely. What is your favorite thing about yourself?
Physical or personality-wise? Physically, I like my eyes and my hair :) Personality-wise....I have no idea

39. Who is your favorite historical figure, and why do you admire him/her?
My favorite periods of history revolve around wars, so it's probably George Washington or Robert E. Lee. They're both incredible Christian men and great leaders.

40. You just won $50,000. What are you going to do with it?
Pay for college and all those expenses that go along with it, then..... buy a car......and lots of books and a nice old bookshelf to go with it! An old trunk or two, and a few other things I've wanted. If it isn't spent up by then, the rest will go in the bank.

41. What is your favorite type of ethnic food? (i.e., Mexican, Italian, Chinese, etc)
Mexican, Indian, or Mediterranean.

42. If you could change the name of a fictional character, who would it be and why?
Perhaps Rab Silsbee. It's a rather odd name and it doesn't flow very well.

43. What is your opinion on garden gnomes?
I think they're creepy for the most part, but Gnomeo and Juliet was adorable!

44. What is currently your favorite song?
The Song of Exile(we will go home). It's so pretty!
